About This Blog

Thanks for stopping by!
I believe we all feel a pull toward some type of design that goes to our core. Whether it's a newly carved wooden Buddha from Bali or a relic from 15th century France, design creates a connection across borders and over time. And yet it is often difficult and frustrating to create the aesthetic you are drawn to without spending gobs of money, at least that's what I've discovered!  With these thoughts in mind I write my blog.
Objects of Intrigue was born from my over-zealous love of everything antique.  I have a more modern side too that appreciates clean lines and simplicity, but I NEED a sprinkling of something old and well used to provide character and wonder.   This is my personal journey to find tangible design ideas that don’t break the bank and seldom require me to “do it myself” because let’s be honest life moves at an alarming pace and that table I said I'd strip and paint is still in the garage!  This site is about finding inspiration from my own backyard and around the world.  It’s about discovering what makes my style personal.   It’s about creating luxury and amazing design by marrying mainstream home furnishings with a bit of antique love and flea market finds for fabulous results that are authentically me.  I hope you'll take a peek, find inspiration, share your discoveries with me and create your own perfect space… whatever that may be.
